Select Village Laws To Know
Food & Drink
On the beach, you may only drink water out of a plastic bottle. This helps keep our beaches and walks clean, and reduces the amount of broken glass stepped on!
You may consume non-alcoholic beverages in the commercial business district. They must be in a plastic or paper container — no glass or cans.
Eating is allowed only in the commercial business district. There is no eating permitted on the beach, overpasses leading to the beach, or in the residential area. Please help keep our beaches and streets clean!
Summer Bicycle Restrictions
From Friday of Memorial Day weekend to Monday of Labor Day weekend, bicycle riding is not permitted on the weekends or holidays, or any time on Bay Walk.
Bicycles must have reflectors and a bell or horn. Children 14 years old and younger are required to wear helmets.
Public Restrooms
Public restrooms are available:
At the Ferry Terminal on Bayberry Walk
At the Community House on Bay Walk and Cottage Walk
At the beach and Cottage Walk
Fire & Medical Emergencies
Fire is our biggest concern. To report a fire, dial 911!
The Village of Ocean Beach is very proud of its Emergency Medical Response System.
If you need medical attention, call 911. You need to know your address and the name of the walkway you are on.
