 CONTACT FORM

Whether you are a new or existing resident, it is imperative that the Village has this information on file. In order to receive tax bills, important notices, emergency notification and email updates, etc. it is very important to submit the CONTACT FORM, with a copy of your new deed to the Village Office.

WAGONS

Please pick up your wagons at Windswept.  Any wagons currently being stored there will be removed on Friday, June 28th, 2024 and relocated to the area adjacent to the Ballfield. We appreciate your patience while we establish a new wagon park area by the ferry terminal.

RENTAL PERMITS

There is a minimum 7-day rental period.  Rental Permits are $125 and must be applied for electronically via the website www.villageofoceanbeach.org under “Application Forms”.  Applications must be submitted at least 7 days in advance of the rental period and can be paid by mailing a check and/or credit card (2.25% - Debit 1.25% service charge applies).  Renting your house without a permit is a violation of the Village Code and may result in tickets and fines up to $3,000 per day and/or revocation of rental privileges.

BBQ PERMITS

BBQ Permits must be applied for electronically via the website www.villageofoceanbeach.org under “Application Forms”

HOMEOWNER BBQ Permits are for homeowners that do not rent.  An application must be applied and paid for every two years.  The fee is $100.  

RENTAL BBQ permits are free of charge each year with the filing of the first rental permit, it is a separate application and only needs to be completed once a year if you will be submitting rental permits

Please find applications on the website www.villageofoceanbeach.org under “Application Forms” – Construction Permit/Fence Permit/Ordinary Repair Maintenance.  A construction permit is not required for painting, power- washing and most landscaping, EVERYTHING else requires a permit.  During the summer months, Emergency Construction permits can only be obtained in the Village Office and are only granted under extenuating circumstances. Construction without a permit is a violation of the village code and is subject to violations and/or fines.

FERRY TICKETS

Discounted Homeowner Ferry Ticket books are limited to six (6) books per household and must be applied for each year electronically via the website www.villageofoceanbeach.org under “Application Forms”.  Ferry Ticket Application Sales open December 1st and end on March 15th.

GARBAGE RULES

Garbage pick-ups are Wednesday & Sunday nights starting at 5:00 pm (except for holidays)

All garbage must be in a plastic bag, in a can with handles and with a secure detachable lid.  Containers no bigger than 32 gallon pails & not to exceed 60 lbs. There is a three (3) pail maximum for each collection day, excess garbage pails will be charged $25 per can per pickup. Garbage violations are subject to fines per village code. We appreciate your cooperation!

RECYCLABLES

Recyclables are collected on Sunday nights - solid waste consisting of newspapers, corrugated boxes (cardboard, boxes, etc. must be flattened & bundled), plastic soda and milk containers, glass bottles and jars and metal food and beverage cans.  WRAP PAILS are available at the village office for $25

BULK TRASH

Bulk Trash runs from June – September.  The schedule can be found on the village website under “Application Forms”

NO Furniture (i.e. NO Sofa, Couches, Large Tables/Chairs/Recliners etc.)

NO Large Appliances (i.e. NO Refrigerators, Ranges, Washers, Dryers, etc.)

You must notify Village Hall by the Tuesday immediately before a pick-up day.  NO LATER THAN 3PM (No Exceptions) to provide address and identify items. Items must be placed at curbside after 3PM on Tuesday for Wednesday pick-up.

ELECTIONS

Elections are conducted every 4 years for the offices coming due.  In order to participate in Village Elections you must be a registered resident of Ocean Beach and registered to vote with the Suffolk County Board of Elections.  Information to register is available on our website under Elections.

PETS

Dogs & pets must be leashed in all public areas of the Village. You are responsible for bagging & cleaning up after your pet.  Dogs & pets are not allowed on the beach at any time.

FOOD, DRINK & NOISE

Food & drink (including alcoholic beverages) are not permitted on the beach, overpasses or walks.  Water bottles are permitted.  You can eat & drink non-alcoholic beverages on Bay Walk (in town only).

Music and voices are easily heard, please be mindful and respectful of your neighbors.  According to the Village Code noises should not be heard “outside the perimeter of the property”, especially after 10:00 pm.

In the next few weeks, we will be rolling out a new app for residents, to help provide a more convenient way to report a concern to the Village.  You can download the free app directly to your smartphone.  Residents will have the option to make an anonymous report or you may provide your information, should you wish to receive an update on your concern!
