LAUREL WILT RISK TO SASSAFRAS TREE 9/13/2026

Pines Conservation Society has taken an active stance on alerting our community to the risks of Laurel Wilt, especially given the prevalence of the Sassafras tree in our community and forests. Suffolk County is now under quarantine, and trees in the Pines have shown telltale signs of infection/mortality and are currently being tested.  We have alerted our community via email, posters and have also created this informational blog post:
